League Guidelines for Defaulted Games
Many RCFC Racquetball League members have voiced their concerns with the number of league matches that have not been played for various reasons. Some members feel that game points are important, and many have asked that the league organizers develop guidelines to fairly allocate points for defaulted matches.
The following is a summary of the new Regina League Guidelines for Defaulted Matches:
1. All League Members are responsible for contacting their opponent to confirm that their opponent can play the match.
2. League Members who are unable to play their Tuesday/Thursday night match must contact their opponent by NOON on the day of the match.
3. ALL postponed or defaulted matches must be reported* to the league by the end of league play each Tuesday/Thursday using one or more of the following methods:
- Mark it in the League Binder at the front desk;
- Send an email to the League Statisticians at bmohr@accesscomm.ca, or
- Call Brian Mohr at 585-0718
4. In the event that the League is not notified of a postponed or defaulted game, both players will be considered to be in default and will receive 0 points for the match.
5. All postponed matches must be played the earlier of December 31, 2009 or 4 WEEKS AFTER THE SHEDULE MATCH DATE.
6. In the event that a player does not show up for a match, they will receive an automatic default for the no-show:
It is the responsibility the non-defaulted player to report the default by end of play on Tuesday night. Otherwise, both players will be charged with a no-show default.
7. All players should make every reasonable effort to replay a postponed match as soon as possible. Remember, everyone has had to postpone a match at some time!
8. Any concerns relating to the postponement, rescheduling, or default of a match may be referred to the League Organizing Committee.
